About Danny Englander
I live in San Diego, California and I've recently discovered the wonders of midcentury modern design and architecture. The illustrations on this site are representative of my newfound creativity with vector based artwork.
I also love photography and my style has been influenced by many of the great photographers including Ansel Adams, Wright Morris, Paul Stand, and William Eggleston. I like working with light and the way it hits an object, and I am particular to working on days when there is a bright blue sky with lots of radiant sunlight. Cinema also inspires me, in particular the work of filmmaker John Ford, famous for his location shooting in Monument Valley Utah. The way in which he worked with the landscape and light have had a tremendous influence on my own work.
If you see a surreal flower or two on this site, I can thank Georgia O'keeffe for inspiring me with her gorgeous paintings of flowers.
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than those you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the wind in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~ Mark Twain
